No matter where you are in South Buffalo,
you are only a five minute walk away from
at least one park.
We have 25 official parks, playgrounds, and recreation areas covering almost 730 acres! We are famous for the picturesque Cazenovia Park and South Park Lake, designed by celebrated landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and connected by scenic McKinley Parkway. Plus Tifft Nature Preserve, one of the largest urban nature preserves in the United States.
You’ll find a wide variety of options for people of all ages to enjoy the parks year-round. Parents can sign their children up for baseball, softball, soccer, football, hockey, and lacrosse to name a few. Kids can also take swimming lessons at Caz Pool and learn to play tennis at a summer tennis camp held in Caz Park. (learn more about Youth Sports) All ages enjoy walking and running the many trails and parkways in South Buffalo as well as swimming, ice skating, golfing, playing basketball and even playing Gaelic Football.
In 2011, four of our 7 playgrounds got new equipment. Soon we will have a brand new field with artificial turf for soccer, football, or lacrosse, bringing our total to 13 fields. There are also 2 golf courses, 12 baseball diamonds, 4 tennis courts, and 8 basketball courts.
Beyond our traditional parks you will find an indoor ice rink, and pool. The Tosh Collins Community Center features an open gym, a game room, leagues for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and floor hockey. Plus many exciting field trips for youth.
